The Beat Shack

Michael Peter Boase from the Beat Shack is an active musician based in Fremantle, Western Australia. He has had experience working with many amazing artists and projects throughout his career. In his teenage years, Michael began playing drums, percussion and guitar. He sought out inspiring mentors and teachers who became important influences on his career, including most notably, the late, great, Alastair Van Schoor, who imbued him with a sense that anyone can learn anything if they put their mind to it.

Early in life, Michael developed a passion for what might be described as pan-African music, including Brazilian Samba, United States Funk and many other styles of music originating from Africa itself. This Beat Shack website pulls everything that Michael does as an artist together under one name in order to share more broadly, his love of music and dance. This includes group classes, one on one tuition, performance, djembe repairs/sales, and a special personal touch of including some of his drawings as a visual artist also.
